In a tweet of July 24th, Ministry of defense of Afghanistan claimed that their security forces killed about 262 Taliban terrorists in just 24 hours. The tweet by ministry said, “262 Taliban terrorists were killed and 176 were wounded as a result of #ANDSF operations in Laghman, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Kunar, Ghazni, Paktia, Kandahar, Herat, Balkh, Jowzjan, Helmand, Kunduz and Kapsia provinces during the last 24 hours. Also, 21 IEDs were discovered and defused”.

In an attempt to stop Taliban from invading into various cities across the country, the government has imposed curfew all over the nation. No movement will be allowed from 10 PM to 4 AM except for Kabul and two other provinces.

After the announcement by United States to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan, the disputes between Taliban and Afghanistan have risen in last two months. After the withdrawal of American military forces, around 650 US troops are considered to remain in the country to provide security for the diplomats. In addition, until the formal security operation by Turkey is in place, hundred US forces will provide security at Kabul airport assisting the Turkish troops until September as a temporary move.
