Etawah. There is great happiness in freedom and not the slightest happiness in freedom. Independence is a mine of sorrows. A self-respecting person does not like to be dependent even for a day. His self-respect wants to break the shackles of subordination. No matter how much pleasure and opulence a person gets, it is like poison for him. The growth of the dependent person becomes frustrated, the development of his abilities is stunted, the flow of free thinking stops and he has to be humiliated and harassed every step of the way.
Where is the joy in flying freely in the free sky, where in the cage? Even the rivers that chime every now and then go ahead by tearing the mountains through their chests. Violent animals like lions and cheetahs are also restless to break out of the box. Wild animals like deer, rabbit etc. live freely and remain happy. When animals, birds, flowers and wives also love freedom so much, then how can a prudent person choose to remain dependent?
Dependence is really a stigma for human beings. He has to be dependent in every sphere of life. His talent, art-skill and ability are for others. He cannot take advantage of it himself. He feels a sense of selflessness and insignificance from being held in the bondage of subjection. He considers his life to be neglected and suffering and does not want such a life even in a dream. Independence is a curse. Dependence can never be beneficial to human society or nation.
All the paths of progress and development get blocked. Dependent nations are inferior to other rulers by being devoid of all comforts.
Dependence whether of the individual or of the nation, both are proud. Just as the individual’s dependence stops the development of the individual, in the same way the nation becomes crippled by the dependence of the nation. Dependence has many forms, the main ones being the following:
(a) Political-political subordination is the most frightening. Under this, by making one nation the slave of another nation
Have to stay Political independence destroys the pride and honor of the ruled country and makes it an object of ridicule and hatred.
(b) It is very difficult to subjugate a country economically today, so powerful nations; Especially America has adopted a new approach. He intervened in the internal affairs of the nations by giving them financial aid or loans. This independence is very painful in future.
(c) Cultural – This means that by imposing one’s own language and literature on a country, it should be mentally made a slave. The British have provided mental slavery to the country through the introduction of English in India and through the promotion of western culture.
(d) Socio-social dependency means the existence of inequality among different classes. The British encouraged discrimination among different classes for this. By provoking ethnicity, provincialism and untouchability, he awakened unrest and hatred everywhere in the country. All the above types of subjugation are harmful for the country and society.
There is no such thing as freedom. Culture, civilization and prosperity flourish in the cool shadow of freedom. World poet • Rabindra Thakur, realizing this, has wished to God – “Where there is no fear in the mind and the head is high with pride, where there is no restriction on the flow of knowledge and a clear stream of clear thoughts, the desert of meaningless orthodoxy May I not be lost, O Supreme Father! May my country awaken in the heaven of such freedom.”
Freedom is the birth right of man. Every individual, every society and every nation should make continuous efforts to achieve this right. We Indians are free from political point of view, but we are still mentally slaves of foreigners (British). We should soon be free from this mental slavery as well.
Today we are fortunate that we are singing the song of liberation under the free sky on the liberated land. For our country to remain independent forever, we should forget mutual hatred and class-hatred and take a pledge to maintain the country’s pride and integrity by awakening national consciousness. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari the whole country is one; Therefore, by making the spirit of unity firm and embodied, we should build a proud nation.
