The Chief Minister has assured relief to the flood victims of Gorakhpur Basti Mandal, who fell in the ravages of floods due to the overflowing of rivers coming from Nepal including Rapti-Rohit. After taking stock of the floods by helicopter on Saturday morning, Chief Minister Siddharth Nagar reached the flood-affected areas of Maharajganj and Gorakhpur. Said that no flood victims should feel destitute. The Chief Minister also distributed relief material to the flood victims. In Kasarwal of Sahjanwan, the flood victims also went on board the motor boat of NDRF.
After reaching his market in Siddharthnagar and Dumariaganj, Brijmanganj in Maharajganj, the Chief Minister assured the victims that adequate amount of relief material would reach every flood-affected village within the next three days. If someone’s house comes in the river stream due to flood, then he will be given a house under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme. There is a risk of flooding till September 15. The Chief Minister, while reviewing the flood relief works in His market in Siddharthnagar, also instructed the officials not to take any kind of negligence. Talking to reporters here, he said that there will be no shortage of relief work. After the flood, the spread of disease begins. For its prevention, a special campaign will be run from September 5 to 12. Medicines will be delivered till you are sick. If needed, he will be taken to the hospital. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the administration to conduct a survey in the flood-affected areas to assess the damage to crops, livestock and houses etc., so that relief can be provided to the affected at the earliest. In case of house collapse, immediate assistance of Rs 95 thousand will be provided by the administration.
