Considering Taliban’s menace to bombard on Mazar-e-Sharif and to capture it, all Indian living in or near Mazar-e-Sharif were appealed to leave for New Delhi.
“A special flight is leaving from Mazar-e-Sharif to New Delhi. Any Indian nationals in and around Mazar-e-Sharif are requested to leave for India in the special flight scheduled to depart ate today evening,” the Indian Consulate General of India Mazar-e-Sharif wrote in his Twitter post. He also Tweeted, “Indian citizens desiring to leave by special flight should immediately convey full name, passport number, date of expiry by WhatsApp at the following numbers: 0785891303, 0785891301.”
Earlier, with Taliban’s advancement in Kandahar, Indian-based personnel were evacuated by special flight. The Indian mission is now manned only by the Afghan staff who work for the Indian government.
