    Making changes in rules of National Automated Clearing House (NACH), Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has passed on new guidelines. As per the new guidelines by RBI, from August 1 customers will be able to make transactions of their salaries, pensions and EMI payments even on the weekends. These basic services till date were available for customers only on week days i.e. Monday to Friday when banks remain open.

    Earlier customers used to get delayed with getting their salaries and pensions credited in their bank accounts if the first day of the month fell on any weekend, but with the new guidelines, the defrayal of salaries is likely to get managed. In addition to 24×7 availability of RTGS and NACH from beginning of the next month, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das also announced key financial, economic measures amid the pandemic.
