Good News for cinema lovers! Bollywood is back in theatres

Movies of Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Rajkumar Rao, Ram Charan, and many more are to be released on this day.

When the Omicron variant induced the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Every public space including movie theatres were shut down or only allowed to function at 50% capacity. As a result, Bollywood producers pushed their upcoming releases to avoid losses.

Now that the COVID situation is in control and restrictions are eased by the Maharashtra government. Several movies have announced their revised release dates.

Here’s the list of the revised release date of these movies:

  • Badhaai Do: The film is set to release on 11th February in theatres. The film stars Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead. It is a spiritual sequel to 2018 superhit film ‘Badhaai Ho‘ . The film is about an unusual couple who, rather than coming out, enter into a marriage of convenience to placate their parents. It is directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni.
  • Gangubai Kathiawadi: With stellar starcast of Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s next film after Padmavat is ready for a nationwide release on 25th February. The story is written by popular crime drama author Hussain Zaidi. The film is based on the true story of Gangubai Kothewali, a teenage girl who was sold into prostitution by her admirer Ramnik Lal, and how she rose through the ranks of a brothel in Kamathipura to become the madam. The trailer will be out on 4th February.

  • Jhund: Star of the millenium Amitabh Bachchan will be back on silver screen with Sports drama film titled Jhund. Sairat famed director Nagraj Manjule‘s first hindi languague film will release on 4th March. It is based on the life of Vijay Barse, founder of NGO named Slum Soccer.

  • RRR: Bahubali Director SS Rajamouli is all set for his next pan India project. The film will now be released on March 25, 2022, after being postponed several times due to COVID-19 restrictions. Ajay Devgn will appear in a cameo role in the film, which also stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Alia Bhatt. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Other major release announcement includes Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam on 11th March. Akshay Kumar‘s Bachchan Pandey will be released on 18th March. Ayushmann Khurrana‘s Anek will release on 13th May. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu is said to be released on 20th May.
