An Indian Army officer in combat with militant lost his life in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pir Panjal valley of Rajouri district. “One JCO of the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles suffered bullet injuries in the encounter. The JCO was immediately evacuated to a nearest medical facility but succumbed to his injuries,” an Army spokesperson said.
The militants were seen on Thursday morning in fields and forested area, Karyote Kalas. “The operation is on in the area,” the officials said after getting initial reports that the militants invaded into the Line of Control. In the operation, one militant was also killed in Thanamandi. Rajouri is on-border district in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir. Reportedly, one more Army officer was injured in the firing.
