IPL Auction 2022 update: Shreyas Iyer sold for whooping 12.25 Crores to KKR

Tata IPL 2022 Auctions are underway, after the first phase Shreyas Iyer takes away the highest bid with a handsome 12.25 crores INR.

In Bengaluru, the IPL 2022 Auction has officially commenced. Brijesh Patel extends his warmest greetings to the franchises, players, BCCI and IPL GC members, and new sponsors. Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada were purchased by Punjab Kings early in the season. Pat Cummins was re-signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders, while Trent Boult and R Ashwin were selected by the Rajasthan Royals.

But the real winner was former Delhi Capitals captain, Shreyas Iyer. He was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders with a big amount of 12.25 Crores INR. This is considered to be a good buy as Shreyas Iyer is known for his captaincy skills and power-hitting ability in the middle order.

The first player in the bid today was Shikhar Dhawan who was sold to Punjab Kings for 8.25 Crores. Other players traded are as follows:

Ravichandran Ashwin for 5Cr to Rajasthan Royals
Pat Cummins for 7.25Cr to Kolkata Knight Riders
Kagiso Rabada for 9Cr Punjab Kings
Trent Boult for 8Cr Rajasthan Royals
Mohammed Shami for 6.25CR Gujarat Titans
Faf du Plessis for 7Cr Royal Challengers Bangalore
Quinton de Kock for 6.75Cr Lucknow Super Giants
David Warner for 6.25 CR to Delhi Capitals
