UP government have decided to reopen the schools in the states from August 6 and higher education institutes to open from September 1. However, the students will be called in groups of two from classes 9 to 12. The schools will run for eight hours a day, giving four hours to each group. Keeping the protocols for Covid-19 and reduced number of cases in mind the decision has been made.
Moreover, the state government has said that as the results are out, schools can begin with the admissions for Class 11 and also, the college and university admission are to begin from August 5.
With UP, a few states like Punjab and Uttarakhand reopened the schools from August 2 for all the classes. Schools have reopened in Jharkhand as well but only for classes 9 to 12. Meanwhile, the Delhi government is considering to reopen the schools in Capital city and will take a decision soon.
The expert suggested, “I am a proponent of opening up schools in a staggered way, for districts that are seeing less virus circulation,” said Dr. Randeep Guleria, Chief of AIIMS.
