Three people had been killed and 4 others had been injured in a blast at a garage. In Bengaluru’s New Tharagupet location on Thursday.
Bengaluru South Deputy Commissioner of Police Harish Pandey informed journalists that the blast happened in a delivery godown near a puncture shop. He stated the blast was because of some ”risky chemical” that was an industrial consignment.
“Some eighty strange packing containers (of explosives) had been stored here, we’ve to see how many exploded,” Mr Pandey instructed journalists. “Three persons had been killed which include the puncture store at the same time 4 had been injured,” he stated, adding that the victims had been identified. Mr Pandey stated one of the victims who died was a labourer who was dealing with the containers and the blast has caused “extreme dismemberment”.

“It looks as if a handling-associated explosion. We may have the precise information as soon as the forensics crew arrives here,” he added. He stated it was neither a cylinder blast nor a blast resulting from crackers or short circuit. “There had been no portions of compressors also,” he stated, including that the foundation of the blast is being investigated.
The garage facility belonged to a transport corporation which was getting used as a transit godown, the DCP stated, including, “Obviously, they may be now no longer allowed to place explosives in a transit godown.”
