UP, Haryana and Rajasthan are directed to shift industrial units in NCR to PNR.

AQM commission directed Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to avoid use of fuels that cause pollution in NCR areas.


On direction given by Air Quality Management(AQM) commission, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are to shift all identified industrial units in NCR to Piped Natural Gas(PNG). The three states have to submit the compliance report to the commission by August 31, besides, the states are been asked to develop an action plan to supply the industrial areas in NCR with PNG where gas supplies are not available. Haryana, UP and Rajasthan are asked by the AQM commission to inspect their industries already connected to PNG supply and to ensure that their industries are not using any kind of polluting fuels. AQM commission have also directed the states to the avoid use of unapproved fuels in industries in NCR areas, otherwise, strict actions will be taken against any defaulters.

‘408 of the 1,469 identified industrial units of Haryana have already shifted to PNG’, as per the PTI news agency reports. 1161 of 2273 and 124 of 436 industries from UP and Rajasthan respectively also have made the shift so far.
