Chief Dr. Randeep Guleria from AIIMS informed on Saturday that children might get started to get vaccinated by September 2021. India is yet to clear a vaccine for children but they might be availed with Pfizer and Zydus to prevent the cause of third wave of Covid-19 hitting children. Guleria said “As early as September, we should see children being vaccinated”.
Trials of vaccine on 2-6-year-old children by Bharat Biotech’s COVAXIN is set to begin for its second dose by next week and will be conducted under the guidance of AIIMS. Also, the trials of second dose for children in the age group of 6-12 years has already begun at Delhi AIIMS.
